Vintage and Antique Buckle Rings

The buckle ring as we know it today originated during the early Victorian era, when it was given as a token of endearment or worn as a mourning or memory ring, the latter often containing a small lock of the loved one's hair.

Antique Victorian buckle rings can still be found at auction, along with Deco, Mid-Century and late century "estate" buckle style rings. Look for hallmarks and dates stamped on the interior of the ring as indications of the authenticity of older pieces along with the reputation and expertise of the seller.
